"Eye on the Outdoors" The Missouri Outdoor writer media hunts were successful considering the very poor weather, rain, more rain, wind and then more rain. Hunting the First week in North Mo was awesome with intense gobbling. Second and third week in North Mo was a little tougher with less gobbling during heavy breeding period… gobblers strutted with hens and were not gobbling. Southern Mo experienced rain and high winds most of the season along with very thick high grass and summer time woods. During the last week of the season , gobblers were gobbling and going to each other, running in groups, the "after the mating season" thing of re-establishing pecking order was a little early this season.
